ATLANTA, GA. –  SEPTEMBER 1, 2015 — Author, presenter, international speaker and ordained  minister, Dr. Paul Murray, was today named a Silver Medal Award Winner in the Readers’  Favorite 2015 International Award Contest for his book entitled, “Broken: Picking Up the Pieces After the Fall”.

Author Dr. Paul Murray is a Silver Medal Winner in the Readers’ Favorite 2015 International Award Contest. This prestigious annual award has earned the respect of renowned publishers like Random House, Penguin, and Harper Collins, and has received the Honoring Excellence award from the Association of Independent Authors.

Contestants from around the world, ranging from first-‐time authors to New York Times bestsellers and celebrities compete for this annual award. According to Forbes, there are between 600,000 and 1,000,000 books published each year in the U.S. alone. So it was not surprising that a spokesperson from Readers’ Favorite said, “This was our largest contest ever and competition was fierce.”

Dr. Murray has been invited to attend the Readers’ Favorite International Book Awards Ceremony in Miami on November 21st, along with other winners from around the world. The ceremony takes place during the week of the Miami Book Fair International, the largest book fair in the nation.

Dr. Murray’s book, “Broken” is a unique book that is highly acclaimed across the denominational lines of Christianity. Two Foreword’s have been written; the first by New York Times Best Seller and Evangelical, Dr. Robert Schuller and the second Pentecostal Bishop Robert Martin, Past General Superintendent of the Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ. Endorsements spanning the Christian landscape include such notables as Rev. Fred Luter, Past President of the Southern Baptist Convention; Bishop Lorenzo Hall, Presiding Prelate of One Way Churches International; Bishop Manoel Ferreira, President of the Brazilian Assemblies of God, and Civil rights icon, Rev. Dr. Gerald Durley to name just a few.

Broken, is the story of one man’s failure and how he chose to rise above the circumstances resulting from the disgrace that followed. Using the Bible as a foundation, Dr. Murray identifies Biblical leaders who failed and how they were able to gain wisdom through their personal failures. He infuses his own life experiences with constructive steps and Biblical insights for picking up the pieces after the fall.

Although Broken incorporates very practical advice – outlining sequential steps in the process of turning failure into success – it is so much more than just a self-help book. Readers are offered a glimpse into eternity and are encouraged to choose the narrow pathway leading to heaven’s door.

Mamta Madhavan for Readers’ Favorite said, “Broken: Picking Up the Pieces After the Fall is an uplifting book that will guide readers on a path to redemption and restoration. It will help them to pick up the pieces of their broken lives, and lead them to healing and a great spiritual experience.”

The focus of Broken includes advice on how to move past your failure, with Biblical examples showing how God’s servants managed this. Replicating the wisdom of these ancients and distilling it into the fast pace of our modern lives, Dr. Murray sets his readers on a path to rebuilding their credibility after having experienced failure. Picking up the broken pieces of a life shattered by failure is not an overnight process. It needs time and a well-constructed plan of action. Broken presents this plan, incorporating a Biblical perspective for the individual who actively seeks restoration, but which also includes the role of leadership in restoration. Those in positions of leadership will benefit from the wise counsel presented.

Director of the Doctorate Program at Howard University’s School of Divinity, Dr. Howard D. Trulear stated, “In an age where so much of popular theology focuses on ‘success’, Dr. Murray’s book is a welcome balance to our prosperity culture.” And from Anglican minister and CEO, Rev. Mark Farr, “Drawing from his own life and rooted in Scripture, Broken offers us a deeply spiritual guidebook that will appeal to all those who seek to begin again after failure. Dr. Murray shows us not simply that it is possible — but how to do it well.  Bravo!”
